Sheduer Gondarra

Sheduer Gondarra is of Nakangila skin group and Gulumala clan. His country is Ŋardayun - outstation community in the Gove region. Sheduer has been working as a language worker for the Bininj Kunwok Regional Language & Culture Centre for a few years. Before starting with the Language Centre, he was living in Elcho Island – Galiwinku and there he attended Shepherdson school when he was 6. When he turned 13 he came to Darwin, where he currently lives, and attended Komilda college. He speaks Kunwinjku and Yolŋu Matha. He is passionate about making movies and video technology, he features in ‘the Greedy Emu’ movie made by Skinny Fish. Sheduer is passionate about preserving Indigenous languages following the footsteps of his grandmother Jill with language education.
