Dr. Ruth Singer

Ruth Singer is a linguist who has been working with Warruwi Community for over two decades. She started working with the community in 2002, doing linguistic and anthropological research and working with the community to maintain the Mawng language. This includes producing the Mawng Ngaralk website, the Mawng online dictionary, the Mawng print dictionary, the Nowhere Girls films and currently she is part of a team developing a new online Mawng language course. She has also worked with Warruwi Community to support the Kunbarlang language and was part of the team that produced the Kunbarlang online dictionary and the Kunbarlang online course. Ruth has held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (Nijmegen, The Netherlands), Radboud University (Nijmegen), the Australian National University, La Trobe University and she currently also works at the University of Melbourne.
